“Electronic Magnetic Field”. Current theories state that an entity that is trying to manifest or interact will cause variations in the electronic magnetic fields that can be detected with different EMF monitoring devices used by NCPS.

“Electronic Voice Phenomenon”. It is believed that Digital and Analog recording devices can record disembodied voices that are sometimes not audible by the human ear. NCPS investigators uses these recording devices and believes that we have successfully captured and recorded these voices during paranormal investigations.

An anomaly is any occurrence or object that is strange, unusual or unique. It can also mean a discrepancy or deviation from the established rules dictating what is normal.

Residual Haunting often centers on moments of intense emotion: someone´s beheading, a great battle, a murder or even a celebration. Paranormal investigators theorize that a residual haunting is the result of discharged personal energy of a person or group of people being imprinted on the surrounding environment, most commonly at or just after death and replaying like a movie.

The disembodied energy of a deceased human being that is not only self aware, but quite capable of interacting within the living world of time and space. These interactions may include making itself visible to the naked eye, being able to communicate and being capable of touching the living. These manifestations have been known to possess the ability to manufacture odors that were associated with their human host when they were alive (tobacco, perfume or aftershave).

It is an unexpected, wonderful or preternatural appearance; a ghost, a specter or phantom.

Any phenomenon that is in one or more respects exceeds the limits of what is deemed physically possible according to current scientific assumptions.

Act of manifesting; materialization of a ghost or spirit.

A term used to describe an unexplained area of localized coldness, or sudden drops in temperature, said to be the result of paranormal activity.

A ghost or spirit that makes inexplicable noises, moves or throws objects about, causes fires, breaks dishes, glassware and other such objects.

A confined area or room with a high EMF reading. This can cause hallucinations as well as headaches, body aches, nausea and paranoia. It is also thought to be an area conductive to strong paranormal activity.

Let’s face it, life happens. We would love to be able to investigate everywhere and any time but sometimes we are limited by distance and other factors. At this time we are only able to investigate about 1.5 hours away from Durham, NC. There are other teams in North Carolina that may be closer to you. So… you have unexplained “events” occurring in your house, business or around you and you’re looking for help.  NCPS is here to provide that help.

The first thing you should be doing, if not doing so already, is recording the events in a journal. Please include as much detail as you can, such as time and date, location of event, who was there to witness the event, etc.  This will help us determine what is occurring during the consultation and if warranted, a full investigation.

The next step is to give us a call or contact us via our website.  A case manager or assigned team member will return your call to discuss the events occurring. If we were not able to solve the problem or answer your questions over the phone, the next step is a consultation.

Consultation: If you have questions, or reservations about having a team come out, we offer consultations. This would be a small group of team members coming out to speak with you and answer any questions regarding your paranormal concerns. Upon your approval, we may use various equipment to get baseline data and/or evidence if the location is very active. We can also asses to see if a full investigation is needed.

Full Investigation: In instances where a full investigation is warranted, there are a few things to keep in mind. These investigations can call for a modified set-up for only certain equipment, or a full set-up of all equipment (including cameras). We will do a pre-investigation question session with you, and a walk through of the property with the investigation team upon arrival. We also review a few forms with the you, and gain access to the investigation site.  Post-investigation procedures will also be explained to you at that time.  It is a good idea, that in most cases, the homeowner should not remain on site during the investigation.

Post Investigation: After the investigation concludes, our team will review all materials collected and a follow-up meeting will be scheduled to reveal any evidence, if captured. If true paranormal events are found to be occurring, we will develop an action plan to help alleviate those events. Please remember that it can take some time to get through the evidence review thoroughly. All NCPS team members also have full-time jobs and other obligations to consider.
